Typical comments from people who buy a whole body vibration machine, and a reply from the designer of VIBRATATION.
“It’s more powerful than I expected – don’t recommend buying this if you live in an apartment.”
True. You can safely use it if you’re on the first floor. Or, your neighbor in the apartment below you isn’t at home (and preferably with the machine set in a doorway where the floor is most reinforced. Otherwise dishes in kitchen cabinets will make some noise).
“I wish it came with more instructions on how to use it.”
Do what you normally do for stretching and getting warmed up, while on the machine. The next level is using free weights, dumbbells, kettle bells, whatever, just like you would at a gym, but during VIBRATATION.
Occasionally, I get this response from people who feel like the vibration is “no big deal” — and 100% of the time it’s because they’re not standing straight up on the machine: some people’s automatic response to the vibration is to keep their knees bent, so the intensity isn’t getting past the legs into hips, core, shoulders and head.
“After getting the machine I definitely feel lighter and much more energetic, like after a workout but with less time going to the gym or using a normal type of exercise machine at home.”
True. Whole body vibration is not like any other fitness machine.
“At first, I couldn’t stand up without falling over. But after a few minutes I got used to it and I’ve never felt anything like this. It’s totally amazing. I wish I had tried this years ago, but my gym doesn’t have a vibration machine.”
Difficulty standing up is common. I had that too. However, nausea or headaches or dizziness are almost unheard of. I don’t understand why this is, and I don’t have any explanation for this phenomenon. I don’t know anyone as motion-sickness sensitive as I am. If I don’t take Dramamine, I’m miserable on a flight, and 99% to the point of vomiting after 10 minutes in the back seat of a taxi. But whole body vibration never makes me feel nauseous.
“The machine would be perfect if you could adjust the intensity lower.”
But this would make it a lot more expensive for everybody; and you can always wear flip-flops to reduce the intensity, if you feel it’s too intense.
